Permits for Öreälven (Västansjö FVO) are sold directly by the FVO at orealven.laxportalen.se (not via iFiske). Three permits are offered — a daily, a weekly, and a season card valid 1 May – 15 September. 1–20 May is catch & release only; from 21 May the regular bag limit of 1 salmon or 1 sea trout per day applies.

Rules & Regulations

Welcome to Öreälven (Västansjö FVO). Permits are sold directly by the FVO at orealven.laxportalen.se (not via iFiske).

Open season

  • Fishing season: 1 May – 15 September.
  • Early-season rule: 1 May – 20 May is catch & release only — no fish may be killed.

Bag limit

Max 1 salmon or 1 sea trout per angler and fishing day may be retained.

Minimum sizes

  • Salmon: 50 cm.
  • Sea trout: 50 cm.
  • Grayling: 35 cm.

Methods

Permitted methods are fly fishing and spinning. A sinking line is recommended early in the season; switch to a floating line as the water warms.

Conservation

Please release small fish — it is important for sustainable salmon and trout populations in the river.

Catch reporting

Season-permit holders must submit catch reports via the Lämna Fångstrapport portal on orealven.laxportalen.se.
