Rules & Regulations
Welcome to the Mörrumsåns FVO Ebbemåla–Åmma beat. The permit is personal and entitles the holder to fish within the FVO waters according to the current beat map and the regulations below.
Children 0–15 fish free of charge, but only in the company of an adult who holds a valid permit — they count on the adult's quota.
Beats and rotation
- Fishing is permitted only from the west bank.
- The water holds nine pools across roughly 3.5 km, with marked boundaries.
- The rotation principle applies — frequent changes of fishing position, work downstream.
Fly fishing
- Permitted in all pools.
- WF / DT shooting heads allowed when flow is above 20 m³/s.
- Sink-tip and floating-sink lines (1, 3, 5) allowed depending on water conditions.
- Jerk-style retrieves are forbidden.
- Upstream casting is forbidden, except for nymphing with a single-handed rod.
Spinning
- Permitted in all pools.
- Max lure weight: 20 g when flow is below 20 m³/s.
- Jerk-style retrieves are forbidden.
- Upstream casting is forbidden.
- Foul-hooked fish must be released.
Angling (bait fishing)
- Allowed only in four pools: Maden, Gösen, Ebbe bäck and Dammen.
- Live bait is forbidden.
Bag limits and sizes
- Daily quota: 1 salmonid (salmon, sea trout or hybrid) per angler.
- Minimum size: 50 cm.
- Rainbow trout, pike and perch may be kept; other species must be released, unless suspected of being a Swedish record.
Mandatory release
- Stationary brown trout, bream, ide and eel must always be released.
- Coloured (kelt) female salmon must be released in March and April.
- In September all salmon, sea trout and hybrid females with an intact adipose fin must be released.
- Treble hooks are forbidden in March, April and September.
Handling and release
Released fish must be handled as gently as possible — minimise air exposure, wet your hands, keep fight time short, and let the fish recover head-into-current before releasing.
Boats and motors
- Boat fishing is forbidden.
- General prohibition on the use of outboard / boat motors.
Catch reporting
Catch reporting is done ONLY via iFiske, by every angler who has landed and/or released fish.
Violations
Breaches of these rules are punishable. The FVO board reserves the right to revoke permits for repeated or serious violations.
