Fishing permit Byskeälvens Övre Fvo
Permits for the upper Byske River section (Byskeälvens Övre FVO, org. no. 899100-4675) are sold by the FVO through iFiske. All permits are digital — delivered by email, in the iFiske app and optionally by SMS. From 1 January to 30 April fishing is free in both the river and the put-and-take lakes (Minahålet, Sikträsket); all other regulations still apply. Children under 16 fish free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
Rules & Regulations
Welcome to the upper Byske River (Byskeälvens Övre FVO). A valid fishing permit is required for everyone over 16. An annual permit acts as a family permit for spouse and children up to 16; daily and 3-day permits are personal and cover one rod from shore. Children under 16 fish free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
Note: free fishing for everyone from 1 January to 30 April, in the river and in the put-and-take lakes Minahålet and Sikträsket — fishing regulations still apply.

Catch handling and reporting
Any dead fish that should not have been killed (e.g. accidentally killed during a release attempt) must still be released back into the water.
A mandatory release stretch runs from Kilverdammen to Graunaforsen — all fish must be released on this stretch.
Mandatory catch reporting within 48 hours after the end of fishing. All fish over 30 cm must be reported. Submit reports through your digital permit on iFiske or at byskealvensovrefvo.se.
When releasing fish, handle them as gently as possible. Hold the fish facing the current so water flows through the gills and let it swim away on its own.
Control fees (penalties)
- Fishing during a closed season — SEK 4,400.
- Killing a salmon outside the slot size — SEK 4,400.
- Failure to present a valid permit on request — SEK 300.
- Late or missing catch report (within 48 hours) — SEK 1,100.
