Permits for Ängesåns FVO are sold directly by the FVO at kalix.laxportalen.se (not via iFiske). Three permits are offered — a daily, a weekly, and a calendar-year annual card. Children under 16 fish free of charge. Trout fishing is currently under a total ban; check the FVO's current notice before your trip.
Rules & Regulations
Welcome to Ängesåns FVO on the Ängesan, a tributary of the Kalixälv. Permits are sold directly by the FVO at kalix.laxportalen.se (not via iFiske).
Children under 16 fish free of charge.
General
- Natural bait (worms, etc.) is not allowed in flowing water.
- Rotation fishing: "one cast, one step" — keep moving downstream.
- Lead weights are forbidden.
- Boat fishing is allowed only downstream of the bridge in Tväredet.
Salmon (lax)
- Open season: 1 June – 31 August.
- Minimum size: 50 cm.
- 1 June – 31 July: max 1 salmon per angler and day may be retained.
- 1 August – 31 August: catch & release only — no salmon may be killed.
Grayling (harr)
- Closed season: 1 March – 31 May.
- Minimum size: 35 cm.
- Max 4 grayling per angler and day.
Sea trout / brown trout (öring)
Currently under a total fishing ban — all trout must be released (the FVO notice from 2022 has not been lifted). Check the current FVO notice on kalix.laxportalen.se before targeting trout.
